Our doctoral researcher, Savvas Panagi, participated in the Smart Energy Systems Conference 2025, held in Copenhagen.

The conference focused on integrated approaches for sustainable energy systems, with a particular emphasis on heating and cooling (H&C) technologies. Key topics included modeling, operational strategies, and model predictive control, offering valuable insights into the evolving role of H&C in sector-coupled energy systems.

1st SUNRISE Summer School: A Fantastic Experience!

I recently participated in the 1st SUNRISE Summer School at the University of Belgrade. This incredible event brought together energy enthusiasts from across the globe for hands-on learning and lively discussions on Real-Time Applications for Renewable Energy Sources. The program featured practical sessions on protection relay testing, control hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations, and engaging lectures delivered by top experts.

I recently attended the Grid-Forming Control Workshop, organized by the renowned L2EP (Laboratoire d’Électrotechnique et d’Électronique de Puissance de Lille), a leading research laboratory dedicated to advancements in power electronics and electrotechnics. Held from July 8–11, 2024, this summer school was an extraordinary opportunity to deepen my understanding of grid-forming control and its practical applications in modern power systems.
