PSCC 2026 in Limassol
Petros Aristidou opening the conference at St. Raphael Resort, LimassolFrom 8–12 June 2026, the 24th Power Systems Computation Conference (PSCC 2026) took over the St. Raphael Resort in Limassol for a week of computation, optimisation, dynamics, and grids by the sea. This was the first PSCC ever hosted in Cyprus, and the first in the Eastern Mediterranean: a milestone for the local power-systems community and for the conference.
PSCC 2026 was jointly hosted by the two public universities of Cyprus, the University of Cyprus (UCY) in Nicosia and the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) in Limassol, with our lab director Petros Aristidou and Prof. Mathaios Panteli (UCY) serving as Local Organising Committee co-chairs. Members of the SPS Lab and our colleagues at EAC and CUT formed the backbone of the LOC.
A truly international gathering
The numbers from the opening session tell the story:
- 363 participants
- 34 countries represented
- 40 parallel sessions across four parallel tracks
- 35% student registrations, the next generation of power systems researchers
The top countries by attendance were the USA (11.5%), Germany (9.5%), the UK (8.4%), France / Switzerland (7.0% each), and Cyprus (6.7%), followed by Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, Brazil, China, and Canada.
A programme by and for the community
The week followed the classic PSCC structure, with a few Cyprus-flavoured additions:
- Monday tutorial on Modelling, Control, Stability & Simulation of Low-Inertia Power Systems, delivered by X. Guillaud, M. Paolone, F. Cecati, F. Milano and J. Vorwerk.
- Monday round table “AI for Power, Power for AI”, opening the conversation that would bookend the week.
- Three plenary survey papers on TSO-DSO coordination for flexibility management, fundamentals of power system resilience, and the closing panel on Emerging risks of major supply-interruption events.
- 40 parallel sessions covering OPF, markets, protection, EMT, ML for power systems, IBR-dominated grids, state estimation, planning, physics-informed ML, storage, reliability, local markets, voltage and DER control, forecasting, TSO-DSO, HVDC, cyber-security, and frequency.
The social programme matched the science: a Welcome Cocktail at the venue on Tuesday, a guided Mid-Conference Excursion through Limassol’s old town on Wednesday, and the Gala Dinner at the Dafermou Winery in the Lefkara hills on Thursday.
Thanks to our sponsors and the LOC
PSCC 2026 would not have been possible without our sponsors and exhibitors:
- Platinum: Gurobi Optimization
- Silver: DIgSILENT
- Bronze: Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC)
- Exhibitors: Artelys, Citizens in Power, FLEXCHESS
And to the people who made the week run: the Local Organising Committee, the PSCC Executive Board, the President Patrick Panciatici, TPC Chair Louis Wehenkel and Vice-Chair Florin Capitanescu, the 65+ TPC members across 20+ countries, the survey & tutorial authors, session chairs, student volunteers, and the EasyConferences staff.
To every author, reviewer, attendee and speaker who travelled to Limassol: thank you. See you at PSCC 2028.
